Habit Tracking App

It has been just over 30 days since I invited you to pick one thing to track using KIP (if you missed the invite, please refer to the January Newsletter). For many of us, this is where the discomfort of change starts to feel very real. I often wonder why it is that we struggle so much to maintain consistency in our health and well-being. We start with the best intentions, yet our old patterns are incredibly seductive.

When we look at the history of transformation, we find a beautiful blueprint in the work of Carl Jung and his influence on the creation of the Big Book. Jung understood that human beings cannot always achieve a forever intention or goal all at once. Instead, the focus must be brought down to a single, manageable 24-hour period. This one day at a time philosophy is the secret to consistency because it takes the pressure off the future and puts your power back into the present moment.

If you missed a day or fell off your track during this 30-day challenge, I want you to reflect back with curiosity rather than judgment. What kept you from your focus? Was it a busy schedule, a moment of stress, travel, or perhaps just the pull of a comfortable old habit? Identifying the why is not about finding an excuse; it’s  about understanding your own roadblocks so you can navigate around them tomorrow.

This brings me to a concept Jung shared that I find so helpful for finding balance. He suggested that our unhealthy habits or stuckness are often a misplaced search for spiritual wholeness. He believed that the only way to truly move past a destructive pattern is to replace it with a higher spiritual experience. To me, this means that when we choose consistency, for example, with Focused Breathing or our daily wellness, we aren't just checking a box. We are actually feeding that peaceful lifeforce within us.

When we nourish that spiritual side of ourselves, the need to fall back into old, unhelpful patterns starts to fade away. Balance isn't a chore; it’s the path to the peace we have been looking for all along.

Consistency is not about being perfect; it is about the willingness to return to the practice. If you stopped, start again today. Open your app, take that focused breath, and remember that you only ever have to be consistent for this one day. You are part of that small percentage of people doing the deep work, and I am right here with you.

With love,

Kendra
