Siblings Swinging --- Image by © Royalty-Free/CorbisThe things that move you should be the things that bring you alive, that bring you joy, that are your heart’s desire.   Have you ever stopped to think about what those things are for you?  If you haven’t, I encourage you to take time at the start of this lovely vibrant season of summer and play with that idea; “What moves me?”  Perhaps I should clarify that there are certainly things that move us that are not pleasant, but that is not what I am encouraging you to focus on for the next two and a half months.  At least that is what we have left of summer in the Midwest.

First things first, remove the obstacles.  Allow yourself to steal away 30 minutes each day to be inquisitive, like a child.  When is the last time you went swinging on a swing or played in the water or walked in the rain?  Some of the best carefree moments are the moments that you spend being childlike.  The kids are out of school for the summer – let yourself be out of school for the summer – for just 30 minutes each day.  If you have reasons that you let get in the way of this 210 minute gift, put them aside for just a week, and then see what you are willing to let yourself have for the next week.

The flowers, the trees, the laughter of kids, the evenings on the deck with friends, have come alive for the summer.  Be moved by what brings you joy and what your heart’s desire is.  No need for approval – just go for it!

An abundance of sunshine and love to you!
